CELEBRATING

MOTHER'S DAY WITH

OUR FOUNDER

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we would like to honour the incredible working women who inspire us with their ability to balance and succeed in all aspects of life.

This year, we get to spend time with Michelle Aznavorian the founder of MISHA, and her two daughters Allegra & Chiara. Discover how Michelle balances motherhood and managing her global brand.

HOW DO YOU BALANCE BEING A MUM & MANAGING YOUR BUSINESS?

"Sheer perseverance! haha ... really can't stress that point enough!

Somedays are definitely harder than others, I remember coming into the office 7 days post partum... that was challenging.

More recently, a mix of introducing key management roles and enabling more responsibility on the team has enabled my team to do what they do best, make meaningful decisions without my intervention in order to embrace full responsibility in their roles. This has certainly helped me maintain balance."

CAN YOU SHARE A MOMENT WHEN YOU FELT ESPECIALLY PROUD TO BE A MUM?

"Although they really do make me proud everyday, there was a moment where Allegra had a piano recital at school in front of a small crowd of parents ...after only 2 lessons!

She was so brave to get up in front of a crowd, with such little preparation and perform, and she did it with a smile and such confidence.

I don't know where she gets it! I couldn't have done it!"

WHAT LESSONS HAVE ALLEGRA & CHIARA TAUGHT YOU?

"Patience, more patience and discipline. Which translates well into the office.

I think you're always learning as a parent as the challenges change with time..they just don't get easier! Reminding myself to keep patient and disciplined is really what I've learnt."

WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING THING ABOUT BEING A MUM?

"The unknown of it all is what is rewarding. Being able to simply be there and see their personalities form into who they're destined to be is what it's all about."

WHAT DO YOU ADMIRE MOST ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTERS?

"Their strong characters (too strong at times!) and their emotional intelligence to be empathetic when they sense I'm having a tough day!"

WHAT'S YOUR IDEAL WAY TO SPEND MOTHER'S DAY THIS YEAR? HOW WILL IT ACTUALLY BE SPENT?

"Really simply just at home waking up with breakfast in bed!

Showered in hugs from the kids.I wouldn't have it any other way."
